I concur with the opposite overview that the unit is very vivid at evening without so much capacity to dim. This is a nice unit if you are no longer having a look for Bluetooth phone and do not care if it cannot be fixed if in case you have an issue.
The Bluetooth microphone is the Achilles heel for this unit. It was awful from the start. The unit is just one week old and when speaking to anyone on the Bluetooth phone, they are in a position to barely hear you and the sound is very tinny. It is so bad, that just about every other phrase is unintelligible. I had the unit professionally installed and the mike put near the rear view mirror.
The case by contrast unit used to be sealed after multiple names/emails to the Kenwood Service Center and to Tech Support. I have serious querys as as to if any of those folks know what they're doing. Tech Support #1 said there's a firmware patch to restoration the issue (if they knew it was an issue, why failed to they repair it earlier as I sold it at Fry's and they have got a big turnover of merchandise so it was oncen't on the shelf long). Tech Support #2 mentioned they didn't have a firmware for this adaptation. So I discuss with customer service. Customer carrier person #1 mentioned "IF" there's any firmware improvements, I must ship the unit again to the factory carrier middle for restore and if no longer, the Service Center would must see if a repair is that which you can think of. Customer Service #2 mentioned because it was so new, return it to the supplier. I tried to get them to ship me a model new unit with the restore, however they won't try this, too much bother.
So I am returning the unit to Fry's and am going to purchase a different brand.

I do MLM for a residing so the Blu-Tooth phone function is essential to me. The sound quality is extremely poor. You WILL NOT be in a position to use this to be in contact with ANYONE! Everything else works lovely fantastic. The navigation menu is kind of gradual while you faucet on something and this unit has freezed on me a few times.
